Thanks to everyone who took the time and trouble to fill in our quick 2 min survey about your experience of playing padel in the UK. We have received hundreds of replies and a couple of things certainly stand out for us.
Firstly, the people in Essex who responded seem overwhelmingly to feel that Padel United were doing a good job in providing a vibrant padel community with enough court time and events to keep them happy – up to a point. Even in Essex not everyone could get game time at the ideal time for them, and people have had trouble during peak times in booking a court. Further afield, it seems that people in London and in the North West of the UK are also looking for extra facilities as the game continues to rapidly grow in popularity in those regions. In other parts of the UK it remains hard to even find a game close to home, some of our correspondents have mentioned having to travel over 100 miles to access facilities. Bravo for effort!
As of end of 2021 there are an estimated over 90,000 active padel players across the UK- and growing! There are currently 150+ padel courts at 66+ venues – a number that is set to grow over the coming years as more and more courts are appearing around the UK, many of them built and funded by Padel United UK. This, we hope, will go some way towards making our slogan ‘Padel For EVERYONE’ a practical reality!
In terms of what facilities you want to see in your ideal venues – well, watch this space and see how the new builds are taking the possibilities to new levels. You wanted to see a nice cafe, padel shops, great changing and bathroom facilities, all weather courts and good access/car parking – we think we have that covered!
