Padel United UK is proud to announce the appointment of a rising star in the padel world: Ben Welsford has joined our team as Junior Operations Assistant.
This exciting addition marks more than just a new hire—it’s the story of a homegrown talent coming full circle.
Ben began his journey with Padel United at the Maldon venue in 2018, when he was just 11 years old. Since then, he’s gone from promising junior to international competitor, representing Great Britain at junior level and becoming a familiar face across our Essex venues.
💼 From Player to Professional
Over the years, Ben has not only made his mark on the court, but also behind the scenes—gaining first-hand experience in coaching, venue operations, and helping to build the Padel United community. His understanding of the sport, both as a player and coach, gives him a unique insight into how our venues run and how we can continue to improve the experience for players of all levels.
In his new role, Ben will be supporting the day-to-day running of venues and playing an important part in our ongoing UK expansion, as we open a wave of exciting new locations across the country.
🎾 A Future Built on Passion
Ben’s journey is especially meaningful to us as he’s a graduate of the Padel United Junior Academy. To now welcome him as a team member is a proud moment for the entire organisation.
We’re equally excited about Ben’s presence on court — with his coaching skills and friendly energy, he’ll be helping to lead social mix-in sessions, junior coaching programmes, and community events that make Padel United such a great place to play and learn.
“It’s fantastic to see someone who has grown with the sport, and with us, stepping into a bigger role,”
said a spokesperson from Padel United UK.
“Ben brings a mix of talent, experience, and enthusiasm that really reflects our mission to grow padel across the UK.”
🙌 Welcome to the Team, Ben!
Join us in giving Ben a warm welcome as he takes on this exciting new chapter with Padel United UK. With passionate people like him onboard, the future of padel in the UK has never looked brighter.
