While padel is best known as a dynamic doubles sport, singles padel is quickly gaining traction among players looking to improve their game, get a great workout, or simply enjoy a different pace of play. At PDL Padel United, we’re proud to offer a growing number of singles courts across our UK venues – and if you haven’t tried it yet, here’s why you should.
What Is Singles Padel?
Singles padel is played on a narrower court – 6 metres wide instead of 10 – but still with all the same rules and structure of a doubles match. The enclosed walls are still in play, and the scoring and tactics remain largely the same. The key difference? You cover the entire court on your own.
Why Play Singles?
- Improve Your Fitness – Singles is fast-paced and physical, making it perfect for players looking to boost endurance and movement.
- Sharpen Technique – With no partner to rely on, every shot counts. It’s a great way to work on consistency, control, and shot selection.
- Ideal for Solo Bookings – Can’t find a partner? No problem. Singles lets you get on court without needing three other people.
- More Touches, More Practice – In singles, you hit every shot. It’s perfect for focused training and development.
Who’s It For?
Singles padel is great for all levels. Beginners can build confidence, while intermediate and advanced players enjoy a new challenge. It’s also ideal for coaching sessions and drills, where repetition is key.
