Padel continues to be a success wherever it goes!
Over 150 sign-ups in the first month show the potential of padel as a community sport.
It’s been one month since the courts opened at Plymouth Marjon University and it’s been a
truly wonderful start to the ‘Padel Life’ in Plymouth!
We have had over 150 sign-ups, and we have engaged students and staff and inspired them to start playing. Not to mention all our players from the wider Plymouth community! We have been very fortunate to have such fantastic support from the Sports Centre staff, and manager Dan Tyler and his team have been superb in helping the venue to run efficiently whilst we are just beginning.

The entire University staff has been wonderful and supportive – esp. John Chadwick and Laurence Gully, in helping us through these early stages. The partnership we have developed is a recipe for success! Our student Padel activator Maria Kyle, has been amazing, running 2 social sessions a week and really promoting padel to the students of Marjon! Our coach Eric has been nothing short of immense. To find an experienced good level padel player in Plymouth was an unexpected but huger bonus and a stroke of luck for both Padel United and all the players. Eric has been coaching 1-1 sessions, group sessions, and socials, and assisting with all aspects of the club. He is going to be a huge asset to Plymouth and also to PDL-Padel Uniteds UK expansion.
So if you haven’t tried this great sport, take a look at Matchi to check out all the available courts, and activities.
