This is not only very exciting for the current UK venues, but we are actively working on opening more venues across the UK.
We will be looking to transform the shape of Padel in the UK and to emulate what we do across the Nordics, building large indoor centres with unrivaled facilities.
In fact shortly we will be announcing the location of our first major indoor centre in the UK, which will more than double the current largest centre! Despite the takeover we look to continue the work that Go Padel UK started, where community is the centre of our venues and to ensure all people from all areas of the community can enjoy Padel. With the financial power behind us, we will be coming to every part of the UK and work has already started with planning for several big venues across the UK next year. We’d like to take this opportunity to announce that all Go Padel staff will remain the same. Rich will take on the role of running the entire UK programme as well as setting us up in other territories globally. The work Rich has done, in our opinion, made him one of the most influential people in UK Padel and therefore he will play a major part in the Padel United team as we continue to expand globally. We want to excel in all our venues both current and new so that we will have the best cafes, retail, coaches, events and playing experience unrivaled across the world, as well as a multi- venue Padel holiday programme starting in 2022.
Rikard Hellqvist, Padel United founder said:
‘This is a huge statement for our global rollout, it was really important to us to secure Rich
as part of the team and acquiring what he has built is a huge moment for us. With our work
across the Nordics continually growing, we have over 30 venues and over 300 courts and a
clear ambition to be the number one Padel provider worldwide. We look forward to
bringing some fantastic venues to the UK and we believe we have the best team in place as
well as the financial power to transform Padel in the UK’
Richard Hall-Smith, Go Padel UK United founder said:
‘What a journey it’s been with Go Padel and there would have been very few people I would have sold to. Rikard and Markus have been a delight to work with and I know this is just the start of so much more to come. I’m really looking forward to building and creating super clubs across the UK and showing everyone in the UK what Padel is all about! The Go Padel Foundation will also remain and work exclusively with Padel United UK to make sure Padel reaches all corners of the community. This is also a huge moment for me personally, I now can’t wait to not only develop Padel in the UK but also to work in other territories like the USA, Canada and Australia in order to grow our brand. A special mention must go to the Go Padel UK board, who have been a huge support and help. It’s been one hell of a journey but clearly all the decisions we made have been instrumental to our success and have enabled us to now become part of the global company, Padel United.’
Most of all – thank you to all the players! It’s you that have made the Go Padel UK experience so very special. Onwards and upwards! United we stand!
