Padel Is In The News Again
What a morning! We were absolutely buzzing after our chat on BBC Essex on the 24 Febuary, where we got to dive deep into the incredible growth of padel and the massive momentum the sport is building right across the UK.
Padel has been exploding in popularity for good reason – it’s fast, fun, social, and genuinely accessible for players of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re a complete beginner picking up a racket for the first time, a tennis convert looking for something fresh, or an experienced player chasing those long rallies and wall-play tactics, padel delivers something special every time you step on court.
It was brilliant that the BBC came down to visit us, and it was good to meet the fantastic BBC Essex team, and share what makes this sport so addictive. We talked about:
- Why padel is growing so quickly in the UK (spoiler: it’s the perfect mix of exercise, strategy, and pure enjoyment)
- How it’s welcoming more people than ever – families, friends, corporate groups, juniors, seniors – everyone’s getting involved
- The exciting developments happening locally in Essex and the ripple effect spreading nationwide
- Our own journey at PDL Padel United and how we’re helping build the padel community across the UK.
Being on air gave us the perfect chance to shout about why padel isn’t just another racket sport – it’s a lifestyle, a social connector, and one of the best ways to stay active while having a laugh with mates.
Huge thanks to the BBC Essex team for having us on.
