We are writing to inform you that a deal has been completed for PDL Padel United UK to sell one of their venues (Waltham Abbey) to Padel District for an undisclosed fee.
MD + Founder Richard Hall-Smith says:
‘’Being one of the longest serving Padel club owners within the UK and now a large multi-club UK company we are looking for strategic growth within the UK, which means at times we may look to offload certain sites if we have other options.
With new London sites, Colchester and Torbay coming over the next 6-12 months we felt it was the right decision to accept the offer made by Padel District to purchase the club. Alvaro and his team have done an excellent job over the last few months managing the site and we believe with them becoming the owners and with more much-needed investment being put into the site by them, they are the best owners of the club to take the club forward’’

Alvaro, Director of Padel District, began his journey as a Padel operator and event organizer
two years ago in the UK, driven by the vision and slogan: “Helping to grow the sport of Padel in the UK.”
“Padel District has fostered a strong relationship with PDL Padel United UK since its inception. This collaboration led to the involvement with the day-to-day operations of the Waltham Abbey Padel Club. From the outset, I recognized the club’s tremendous potential as a Padel District hub, capable of hosting events, promoting a healthy atmosphere, and building a vibrant community.
Since the opening event a year ago, Padel District has shown commitment to the growth of the venue, and when PDL presented us with the opportunity to take over the club, we decided to back our words with action. We are excited to announce that Padel District will be taking over the Waltham Abbey Padel Club. This decision marks a significant milestone in our journey, allowing us to invest in the club’s future and provide it with the time, resources, and enhancements it deserves.
Our plans for the Waltham Abbey Padel Club include substantial investments in facilities, programming, and community engagement initiatives. We aim to transform it into a premier social padel hub for the London and Essex area.
The upcoming months will see a series of improvements aimed at enhancing the playing experience and fostering a stronger community bond among padel enthusiasts. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where players of all levels can come together, improve their skills, and share their passion for the sport.
