A Winning Start to Pre-Season Training
Last Friday, Padel United Plymouth had the pleasure of welcoming some of the Plymouth Argyle U16s squad to our courts for a morning of padel as part of their pre-season programme.
The session began with a quick introduction to the rules, before the players and staff dived into a round-robin tournament. Despite being completely new to the sport, the squad picked it up quickly — rallies became longer, shots more precise, and competition more intense as the morning went on.

Natural Talent Meets a New Challenge
It didn’t take long for their natural athleticism, communication, and teamwork to shine through on court. Padel’s unique mix of fitness, fast reactions, and tactical play proved to be the perfect addition to their pre-season training, helping the players build match awareness and positional play in a dynamic and fun way.
Building a Long-Term Partnership
Following the success of the day, we’re excited to announce plans to run regular termly sessions with the Plymouth Argyle U16s. By adding padel to their programme, the squad can continue to benefit from a sport that combines teamwork, quick thinking, and plenty of fun.
We’re already looking forward to welcoming the team back onto the courts soon — and seeing their padel skills grow even further!
