Padel continues to grow at an incredible pace across the South West, and nowhere is that more evident than at PDL Plymouth, where both competitive and community padel are flourishing. With the launch of the PDL Plymouth Box League and the successful hosting of the venue’s first-ever LTA tournament, Plymouth is fast becoming a major hub for UK padel players of all levels.

PDL Plymouth Box League – A Winter of Competition and Community

The brand-new PDL Plymouth Box League is officially underway, bringing energy, competition and community spirit to the courts throughout the winter months. With an outstanding 39 pairs signed up, the league has formed seven action-packed boxes, each filled with exciting matchups and evenly matched teams. Players will compete until mid-December, after which the winners will be announced and awarded prizes. From January onward, the league will adopt a dynamic promotion and relegation format: two teams move up, two teams move down, and one remains, keeping the competition exciting and balanced throughout the season.
Early results already show tightly contested matches and strong performances across the board. The league is shaping up to be a standout event for local players and is a testament to the strength and enthusiasm of the South West padel community.

LTA Tournament at PDL Plymouth – A Milestone Event

On Sunday 2nd, PDL Plymouth proudly hosted its first-ever LTA-sanctioned tournament, marking a major milestone for the venue and for the region. With 22 competitors across Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, the tournament delivered a full day of high-quality padel under the guidance of LTA referee Jay Hemmings.
In Men’s Doubles, players travelled from across Devon, producing close matches and several dramatic tiebreaks. Chris Adrian and Ben Greatrex came out on top after a hard-fought final against Joel Greatrex and Edward Kerr.
The Mixed Doubles competition was equally strong, with excellent teamwork and competitive games throughout. Congratulations to Edward Kerr and Abigail Wilkin, who took the win, and to Joshua Burt and Francesca Hampshaw, who finished as runners-up.
The success of this first event highlights the rapid growth of padel in the South West, and PDL Padel United looks forward to hosting many more LTA tournaments in the future.
