You’ve probably driven past those modern glass-and-wire-mesh courts and thought, “What exactly is padel… and should I give it a go?”

You’re in the right place. Padel is the UK’s fastest-growing sport for good reason — and this weekend is the perfect time to discover why so many people are completely hooked. At PDL Padel United, affordable padel is our motto. We’ve made it ridiculously easy (and cheap) for complete beginners to get on court with zero hassle.

Here’s your simple 1-2-3 guide to trying padel this weekend.

Padel For The People!

Why Padel? Easy to Learn, a Lifetime to Master & Seriously Addictive

Padel is a brilliant mix of tennis and squash played in doubles on a smaller enclosed court (20m x 10m). The walls are part of the game — the ball can bounce off the glass and wire mesh, which keeps rallies going longer and makes it far more forgiving than traditional tennis.

Why it’s perfect for beginners:

  • You can be rallying confidently within 10–15 minutes
  • Smaller court + walls = less running and chasing balls
  • Underhand serve and simple rules mean you’re playing properly straight away
  • It’s incredibly social — doubles only, great for friends, couples, work colleagues or family

Why it keeps people coming back for life:

  • Easy to start, but a lifetime to master. There’s always another shot to improve (the bandeja, the vibora, better positioning, smarter tactics…)
  • It’s proper exercise without feeling like a chore — agility, coordination, quick feet and fun cardio
  • The community is welcoming at every level. You’ll make new friends fast

That’s why padel is exploding across the UK right now. Once you try it, you’ll understand the hype.

Affordable Padel is Our Motto – Amongst The Cheapest In UK

We don’t just talk about accessible padel — we actually deliver it:

  • Very low court fees — often from around £3.50–£5 per person per hour off-peak (yes, really)
  • Low-cost racket hire at most venues — you don’t need to spend hundreds on gear to start
  • Super easy online booking via Playtomic or Matchi apps
  • Pay-as-you-play or flexible membership options with discounts
  • No long contracts, no pressure — just turn up and play

We’ve removed every barrier so you can focus on having fun. That’s what affordable padel means to us at PDL Padel United.
