Padel United UK joins Wimbledon on the Big Screen | June 30 – July 13
This summer, Padel United UK is partnering with the Plymouth City Centre Company and Plymouth Marjon University to bring a unique sporting experience right into the heart of Plymouth. From June 30 to July 13, visitors can not only enjoy live coverage of Wimbledon on the big screen, but also take the opportunity to try padel – one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports – completely free.
Never played before? That’s exactly who this is for.
Padel is a fast-paced, fun sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It’s played on an enclosed court with solid rackets, and it’s easy to pick up, making it ideal for beginners of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you’re looking for a new hobby or simply curious, this is the perfect chance to give it a go.
What’s happening:
- Free public access to a full-size padel court supplied by us
- Live demonstrations from experienced UK padel players
- Coaching and support from staff and students at Plymouth Marjon University
- A welcoming, family-friendly environment designed for all abilities
- Wimbledon screened daily on a giant screen with 200 deckchairs
- Themed food and drink, including strawberries, Pimm’s, Prosecco and more
An international market will also be set up in New George Street for finals weekend, adding even more to the atmosphere!

“We’re delighted to work with the Plymouth City Centre Company and Plymouth Marjon University to bring pade to the city centre. We hope people of all ages will come along, try the court for free, and experience what makes this sport so special.”
