Work at our new Waltham Abbey padel venue has started! The transformation of the area is underway and we have made great progress already.

Get Ready For Padel Waltham Abbey!

Prior to Padel United taking over the area it was previously an old disused concrete football pitch with a carpeted surface. We started by clearing all of the debris from the concrete football pitch and removing all of the moss which was on the ground. The carpet from the other side of the area was taken up which actually revealed a great surface underneath!

Opening up the area to make it one big section made a big difference as we took down the middle fence and removed all of the wooden boards from around the fence which was there. The surface was then smoothed out to remove any loose tarmac to allow the playing surface to be as flat as humanly possible – making it an ideal surface for when we lay our top quality, built to international standard, and approved new padel courts!

It was great to see the community of Waltham Abbey coming down and finding out more about our project and how they can get started when we open! Everyone who walked past was very happy to see that the area of land which hadn’t been used for years will become the beating heart and centre of the park and the local spoerting community!

Miles Bromilow writes: Padel United’s success in Plymouth sets the stage for an exciting expansion into Torbay this Summer, signaling the sport’s growing popularity in Devon. With over 1500 players and a utilization increase of over 170%, the Plymouth venue demonstrates the region’s enthusiasm for padel. As Padel United continues to foster community engagement and eyes further expansion into Exeter and Cornwall, Devonians can anticipate even more opportunities to enjoy the fast-paced action of padel.
